Uncommon advice.

As our children become more independent and self-reliant, I begin to ask myself: “What’s next?” “What do I do now?” “Where do I put all this energy that I used to pour into them?”

Sometimes it feels like there are a million answers to those questions.  And other days, it feels pretty hard to nail it down.  I mean, it could be soooooo many different things … I have a wide array of talents or things I could pursue, so where do I even start?

Truthfully, I’ve spent the better part of the last year working through some physical challenges, which meant lots of quiet moments, meditation, self-reflection, drinking more water, eating in healthier ways, and going inward for introspection.  Despite all that time and all that work, I don’t really feel like I’m much closer to finding “the right path.”  Ugh ~

Maybe the healthy and soul-nourishing things I’ve been doing lately are the path?? Perhaps I am and have always been on “the right path,” and I just need to ease up on myself a teensy bit.

In fact, I invite you to ease up on yourself a little bit too.  Maybe just pick one thing today that’s a little bit healthier or that lights you up a little on the inside.  Then maybe “the right path will reveal itself” in its own time.
